All organisations are required under Health and Safety law to carry out an assessment of first aid needs. This involves consideration of what first aid training your staff require. Our First Aid Training courses can be tailored to meet your needs based on your organisations first aid assessment. We will also provide a free first aid assessment for you if required before the first aid training. We also deliver Basic Life Support Training for Healthcare Providers.
There are numerous skills to learn on the path to become a good manager. Being put in charge of other people at work comes with a great deal of responsibilities and new challenges. We offer bespoke management skills training courses that can cover several important topics, all tailored to suit the specific needs of your bu siness.
The Health and Safety Executive can prosecute your organisation if you fail to provide your staff with adequate training. At the end of this course your staff will know how to work safely and without unnecessary risk to their health. It covers the basics of Risk Assessments, COSHH, manual handling, as well as teaching your staff how to make an assessment of their workplace hazards and risks.
With the Information Commissioner enforcing penalties every month, you should be sure that your staff are aware of their responsibilities under the Data Protection Act. This course covers both the Data Protection Act and the General Data Protection Regulation as it applies in the UK. At the end of the course attendees will understand your customers rights under the act and their responsibility to protect them and your organisation from prosecution and reputational damage.
Over 7,000 people are killed or seriously injured by fire each year in the UK. Fire can be devastating for your business, and for those you may employ. The local fire and rescue authority are responsible for enforcing fire safety legislation. At the end of this course attendees will know; how to comply with your organisation’s fire prevention policy; how to carry out a basic fire safety risk assessment, and keep it up to date; how to reduce the risk of fire in their work place.
Having a positive approach to mental health in the work place is a legal requirement set by the health and safety executive. But it also makes good business sense, helping you recruit and retain the best staff as well as increasing productivity. On this course you learn about common mental health disorders, managing stress, self care, promoting and support good mental health at work.
Repeat business is the life blood of growing organisations. There is little point spending on marketing to find new customers, if those you already have don’t come back because of poor customer service. Our Customer Service Skills Course will help you and your employees establish a customer base through quality customer service. At the end of this course attendees will understand how their behaviour is the biggest factor in determining if customers come back, and what they can do to maximise the chance that customers will.
We find ourselves negotiating every day in our interactions with other people. Sometimes it is a formal negotiation for a particular contract, but often our daily negotiations are just two or more people in discussion about an issue they need to resolve. Effective communication and negotiation allows for greater productivity in the workplace, and in customer interactions. At the end of this course attendees will have a better understanding of how to work together with others, with a focus on negotiating solutions that are fair and acceptable for everyone.
Contracts are often draw up by legal experts, and then disputes dealt with by other legal experts at great cost. Another solution is to manage one’s own contracts effectively, in order for them to achieve their intended purpose without additional expenses, or damaging litigations. This course aims to facilitate exactly that: attendees will learn how to manage contracts to reduce the risk of dispute and to increase the chance of repeat business.
Few things are more rewarding than helping a colleague grow in confidence, improve their skills, and further their knowledge through effective coaching or mentoring. Organisations with a strong culture of coaching and mentoring can be successful, but there are also real risks if done badly. On this course attendees learn some simple steps to help ensure effective and appropriate mentoring can happen at their workplace.
Approximately 1 in 6 people in the UK experience a common mental health problem such as anxiety and depression—in any given week. Don’t leave your colleagues health, or your own, to chance. Employees who are fit, healthy, and happy are also more productive at work. Attendees on this course will be given the opportunity to stop and think about how they are looking after themselves and those around them and be given some practical support to improve their own health.
Failing to delegate effectively damages the delegator, the delegate, and the organisation. Significant time and resources are wasted, key staff can be demotivated, and opportunities lost. Attendees on this course will learn ways to help ensure they delegate effectively.
“Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result” is a quote often attributed to Albert Einstein. If you are working hard without achieving the results you want, that can be a sign of ineffective work habits. Even the best academic education may not prepare us for how to be effective at work, or in life (arguably you can’t be one without the other). Attendees on this course will be given the opportunity to think about how effective they are and given support to become more effective in the future.
Great organisations are made up of great teams. Building those teams in a sustainable way and coping with inevitable staff turnover and team setbacks, can be challenging. Attendees will learn ways to help their teams function effectively, grow, and mature so they contribute effectively to the organisation.
You know a good leader when you meet one, and often it is not the most senior person in an organisation. It requires a wide range of skills, both interpersonal and practical. Is leadership a natural gift or a teachable skill? Attendees on this course will discuss how great leaders behave and consider what steps they can take to demonstrate leadership in the workplace.
